This course is an introduction to the basic principles of cave diving utilizing a single primary guide line.
Introductory cave diving is the second level in the development of safe techniques for cave diving, directly building upon the cavern diver course. This introduction to cave diving is not intended to train divers for all facets of cave diving.
The course develops and establishes minimum skills, knowledge, dive planning and preparation, problem solving procedures, swimming techniques, emergency procedures and the basic abilities necessary to safely cave dive within limited penetrations.
Mastering buoyancy control, working with a reel, a light, and awareness in the cave is necessary to safely enjoy another dimension in cave diving. Those familiar with doubles or those intending to enroll in the Full Cave Diver training program can do so at this stage.
To participate in this course, you must
- Have successfully completed the Cavern or equivalent course.
- Minimum of 25 logged dives
- Minimum age 18 years or 15 with parental approval
